Buccaneer Bay closed for 2008 season

Buccaneer Bay waterpark is now closed for the 2008 season. Buccaneer Bay will open March, 2009.

Enjoy Florida's ONLY spring-fed waterpark! White sandy beaches, thrilling flume rides, a kiddie pool area, tiki bar, beach volleyball and the constant 72 degree spring water of Weeki Wachee Springs!

2009 Weeki Wachee Mermaid Calendar Now on Sale for Only $10!

The first ever Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaid calendar is now on sale at Weeki Wachee Springs for only $10! This limited edition 2009 includes four bonus months beginning September 2008!

This is a great opportunity to own a piece of Weeki Wachee history with this beautifully illustrated mermaid calendar. Renowned New York City celebrity photographer Andrew Brusso, captured the mermaids as they posed in decorative wear symbolizing their respected month.

A great holiday gift for those who enjoy the magic of the Weeki Wachee Mermaids!

Former Mermaids Perform!

November 29 & 30

See the mermaids of decades past as they perform for you as they have since 1947! This special performance includes the former mermaids performing underwater ballet and feats such as eating and drinking underwater! A nostalgic show that gives visitors an up-close history of Florida's original roadside attractions.

Toys for Tots Classic Car & Motorcycle Jamboree

December 7

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Share the magic of Christmas with a child at the Toys for Tots Classic Car and Motorcycle Jamboree. The event will be held at the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park parking lot.

Admission is only $10 or a toy (min. value $10). No stuffed animals please.

There will be music, food, mermaids and a visit from Santa. The public is welcome so bring your donations!

This event is sponsored by the Nature Coast English Car Club. For more information, please contact Terry Mathes at (352) 346-1559.

All proceeds will benefit Hernando County Toys for Tots program.

Weeki Wachee Springs to Host "Winter Waterland 2008"

December 12 & 13

7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, The Florida Park Service invite the public to “Weeki Wachee Springs Winter Waterland 2008.” This annual event will include a live nativity scene, Santa’s Express Train for the kids, storytelling, and a photo opportunity with the “Mermaid Elves.”

The highlight of the evening is the Underwater Christmas Spectacular. A holiday-themed underwater show presented by the world famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids. Three mermaid shows are scheduled each night begin at 7:15 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m...

Admission is $6.00 plus tax for adults and $3.00 plus tax for children ages 6-10. Children age five and under are free. Weeki Wachee Springs pass holders get in free.

Animal Planet Films at Weeki Wachee

Animal Planet recently visited Weeki Wachee Springs filming a segment for an upcoming show on Mythological creatures. The segment featured an interview with Mermaid Marcy and her swimming with manatees at Homosassa Springs State park. In addition, filming included several of the Weeki Wachee Mermaids performing at Weeki Wachee. The segment is scheduled to air in the spring of 2009.

Jack Hanna Visits Weeki Wachee Springs

Famed wildlife expert and TV personality Jack Hanna, recently visited Weeki Wachee Springs during and filmed a segment of his children's reality show "Into the Wild." Jack was accompanied by his wife Suzi. Mesmerized by the mermaids, both decided to accept the mermaids offer to swim with them for the filming!

It's been over three decades since Jack's last visit to Weeki Wachee and the mermaids wanted to make this a memorable one!
